Wood bending course

The course gives an initiation into the different processes of making curved wooden components. Small practical assignments preceded by theoretical explanations teaches the student to bend wood by means of heat, steam, by building the curved component from layers (lamination) and also by means of a few less frequently used methods (incised MDF, compressed wood and thermoformable plywood.) Through these exercises, the student also gains insight into the properties of a steam box, the making of moulds and the vacuum press.
